Gotye Announced Second Hammersmith Apollo Date

Belgian-Australian singer-songwriter Gotye has added a second date at London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo.

Following the worldwide smash of 'Somebody That I Used to Know', Gotye has found global success, and will now be performing three dates in the UK later this year - with the potential for more to be announced in the coming weeks.

'Somebody That I Used To Know', which was released in the UK in February, has been a universal hit; to date it has sold over 5 million, topped the charts in 15 countries (iTunes #1in 31 countries) including the UK where it has sold in excess of 1million. The video has tallied up an astonishing 315 million YouTube hits and is still averaging over a million hits a day.

Gotye returned with new single 'Eyes Wide Open' earlier in the summer, entering the UK Singles chart once again. 'Eyes Wide Open' was the first song recorded for its parent album 'Making Mirrors', which has sold 1.3 million and gone Top 10 in 17 countries (iTunes Top 10 in 26 countries). It peaked in the UK charts at #4.
