Welsh rock stars Manic Street Preachers have announced that they’ll be re-issuing their seminal 1992 debut album ‘Generation Terrorists’ to celebrate it’s 20 year anniversary.
The record, which hit #13 in the UK Albums charts when it hit shelves back in ‘92, will be re-mastered and rejuvenated to be released in five different formats: a single CD, a downloadable version, two special editions (which featured previously unheard tracks and demos, artwork, and film footage) and 10 inch vinyl.
Speaking to NME, Manics bassist Nicky Wire said of the release: “The album and the demos sound young, our ambitions sound ludicrous and considering the polemic portrayed, we were actually really fucking funny. A lot of people are attached to the darkness of 'The Holy Bible' or the bigness of 'Everything Must Go' and '....Tolerate...' but for some, that initial colourful burst of the glamorous punk band meant more than any other version.”
The anniversary editions will see a release on November 5th - stay with Stereoboard for any future Manic Street Preachers news in the near future.
