Stereoboard can today reveal that our nomination for the 2012 Darwin Award goes to American rapper Ervin McKinness, after the 21 year-old tweeted about drunkenly driving at 120mph - before allegedly crashing into a wall, killing all five passengers on board.
The incident, which occurred on September 2nd, is drawing widespread attention as McKinness - whose sister has since denied that he was the driver - publicly posted that he was ‘drunk [as fuck]’ going ‘120 drifting around corners’, as well as tweeting the stupidly annoying and cringe-worthy acronym ‘YOLO’. ‘YOLO’ means ‘you only live once’ and has been widely publicised by pop-rapper Drake through his track ‘The Motto’.
The rapper wrote:
He also went on to add: “Driving tweeting sipping the cup fuck yolo I'm turning it up.”
The crash came after their apparent drunken joyriding, and ended with the car going through a set of red lights and hitting a wall, killing McKinness as well as passengers Marquell Bogan, 23, Dylan George, 20, Jonathan Watson, and JaJuan Bennett, 23,
It’s not been confirmed that McKinness was definitely the driver - the police have said that it may have been Watson - but his tweets suggest that it was the rapper, who had only signed a record deal as of April.
