It’s a great week for Joe McElderry, not only does he secure another Top 10 album with his new album ‘Here’s What I Believe’ going straight in at Number 8 on Sunday, he’s also pipped the likes of Leona Lewis and JLS to be crowned Greatest X Factor Act in a poll conducted by Digital Spy.
Some 27,000 votes were cast in the poll that included a battle round which pitted acts against each other to whittle it down to the final 8 where a straight forward vote ensued. Joe secured victory with 26.6% of the vote leaving Leona Lewis to settle for third place behind 2010 winner Matt Cardle. Other finalists included JLS, Little Mix and Alexandra Burke with the likes of Wagner and Jedward being knocked out in the Battle Rounds.
Joe also ran a personal best of 1hr 36 mins in the Great North Run on Sunday and made a new friend in Olympic Gold Medalist Mo Farah. Joe ran to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust and you can still donate by texting J0E91 to 70500 to donate £5.00.
Last night he played a special album launch concert in Newcastle and will play a London album launch show at the intimate St James Church, Picadilly tomorrow, Thursday 20th September.
