Example Hits Out At Expensive VIP/Meet And Greet Packages

London-based singer-songwriter Example has hit out at the rising popularity of super-expensive VIP/Meet and Greet packages that bands and singers are selling nowadays - claiming that it is an obligation for artists to meet the fans that support them for free.
The ‘Stay Awake’ star described the packages as a ‘disgrace’, and said that if his fans wait after a show he will take pictures and speak to them for free. Some acts have been known to charge hundreds of pounds, meaning they rake in thousands on top of their ticket sales at every gig.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Example said: “It's taking people's money for the sake of it. It's a disgrace. Why should someone pay £200 to shake your hand and take a photo? I heard about one pop band charging £200 to meet 200 people after each gig, so they were getting £40,000 a night. That's outrageous.”
He added: “If I see people on the street, I'll have a photo with them. If they wait outside a gig, I'll meet them.”
