Folk rock stars Mumford & Sons have bagged the record of having the fastest-selling album of 2012, after their new LP ‘Babel’ raked in over 150,000 sales in it’s first week.
The band have overtaken Emeli Sande’s ‘Our Version of Events’ and Lana Del Rey’s ‘Born to Die’ as the quickest-shifting albums of the year, with those three records the only that have managed to break 100,000 sales in their first week.
The record sold a heft 158,923 copies on week one - 142,195 more than their debut album ‘Sigh No More’, which hit #11 in the UK Albums chart three years ago - and show straight to the top of the charts when it hit shelves last month.
You can catch the band performing tracks from the album on their Tour of Two Halves later this year. Fans can find tickets through Stereoboard by checking the dates and details below.
