English folk singer-songwriter Jake Bugg has confessed that he doesn’t really listen to today’s pop music - because most of it is ‘crap’.
The 18 year-old, who heads out on UK tour this November, was asked by The Sun about his music tastes, and revealed that he isn’t a fan of any of the new music that we hear nowadays.
Speaking to the tabloid, Bugg said: “[Today’s pop] mostly sounds like crap, to be honest. I just like a lot of the old stuff. That’s not to say some of the contemporary stuff that’s in the charts ain’t good as well. If it’s got a good tune then bang on. But a lot of it doesn’t sound good to me.”
Bugg clearly has a good taste music - he’s just finished supporting Noel Gallagher and also supported The Stone Roses, while he also told NME that he’d love to perform the Arctic Monkeys.
“I'd like to support the Arctic monkeys, that would be cool," he told the site. "But I've already supported the Stone Roses and Noel Gallagher, which are two of the biggest ones for me. The Arctic Monkeys would be wicked, and I'm just looking forward to doing my own shows, really.”
