Justin Bieber Trolls The World In Attempt To Break YouTube Record

Justin Bieber’s recent nude photo fiasco looked to be the first in a potentially horrendous series of personal controversies for the star, after the alleged thief of his laptop and camera threatened to tarnish his image by uploading something at 12noon PST (GMT8pm) today, October 12th. However, it looks like it may have been the most elaborate publicity stunt ever, as the would-be thief has now unveiled a brand new music video/single featuring Bieber alongside Nicki Minaj (check out the track's accompanying video below).

After Bieber’s camera and laptop were stolen earlier this week, a naked photo alleged to be Bieber started circulating the internet. Some thought it was real as the popster shares the same tattoo and physique as the person in the photo, while others didn’t. Most fans were shocked at the incident but didn’t think anything else would come of it - some were simply pleased they’d managed to catch a glimpse of the star in the nude.

However, after a Twitter user named ‘gexwy’ claimed to be responsible for the theft of the laptop and camera, and began tweeting personal videos allegedly take from them, it seemed as though we may have been on the verge of a rather controversial tarnishing of Bieber’s image. Firstly, he posted these videos which were said to be taken from the laptops/cameras, which lead people to believe he really did have Bieber’s personal footage.

Gexwy then claimed to have gotten past any password protected files on the stolen goods, tweeting: “good job with the password protected @justinbieber. weak. and I'm looking at the rest now. all of it.” Things got heated when Bieber and the mystery tweeter began exchanging replies - and apparently, DMs (private messages) - with the thief telling Justin Bieber he ‘should have listened’, and that he would unveil some more personal footage today.

Claiming his fans wouldn’t leave him regardless of what was posted, Bieber remained strong and hashtagged ‘#noon’ (PST), the time the thief claimed he would upload some of the damning footage. Earlier today, Bieber’s Twitter feed exploded with links to old news articles involving himself, including some about his recent nude photo scandal, indicating that the thief may have also hacked the star’s account.

So, with Bieber’s image apparently on the line and some made-out-to-be shocking videos on the way, is the Canadian megastar about to meet a very large bump in his career? Well NO. It seems that millions upon millions of people have been pranked and fooled by what is possibly the most elaborate publicity stunt ever - after both Bieber AND the "thief" tweeted a brand new video and single.

Breaking the video to his fans, Bieber tweeted:

While some are clutching straws in hope that someone does really post some videos featuring Bieber snorting lines off a hooker’s arse (12PST is 8pm in the UK - it’s only 6pm at the time of writing so something could be on the way!), it looks like everyone - including myself - may have been subject to the biggest celebrity prank of recent years. It also seems to be a massive effort to break the YouTube record of 10million views in 24 hours - they’ve already amassed 40,000 likes, but as usual, YouTube’s view counter is stuck on 306.
