Wednesday 13 Announces Pre-Order Page For New 'The Dixie Dead' Album & Special Limited Edition Items

Wednesday 13 is proud to announce the launch of his official pre-order page for his upcoming solo album, 'The Dixie Dead', which is set to hit stores in February 2013 through DevCo.

A special set of release formats have been devised for 'The Dixie Dead', per fan requests for limited edition items. Wednesday himself explains; "This coming February, I release my fifth full-length solo album, 'The Dixie Dead'. 2013 is a special year for me, as it marks 10 years since I began recording solo as Wednesday 13, and with the "The Dixie Dead" I feel proud to say I've made the best record of my career! I feel like "The Dixie Dead" has everything that a W13 fan wants, wanted, or never knew was possible from us. It's a new chapter in the W13 era, a rebirth of excitement and creativity within the band. When I started thinking of how I wanted to release this new CD, the thought of only releasing it in the same old format just seemed really boring to me, and not deserving for the fans. The fans are the people who inspire me to be creative and create, and I love having the freedom as an independent artist to offer new and unique ways to release my music. With 'The Dixie Dead' pre-order and the limited edition CD, we are giving the fans every bang for your buck! There are different pre-order packages and price levels, and some even offer the fans a chance to have your name included in the CD booklet, as well as other limited items. I find this really exciting, because with YOUR contributions YOU are the ones releasing our album! The whole point of this is, the fans get to be included and say "I helped release a CD from my favourite band." This is a really great time in the music industry for artists like me, as I never got to do cool things like this with my favourite bands growing up. I really can't put into words how excited I am for 2013, the release of 'The Dixie Dead' and all the other things we have planned, so get ready, next year is Wednesday 2013!"

Check out the various options here, but be quick, they're limited edition and only available until 13th November.

Wednesday's management expands on the idea; "As we were sending out news regarding the 'The Dixie Dead' release, I received a few emails saying how it would be beneficial for Wednesday 13 to consider doing a Pledge Music or Kickstarter campaign...a crowd sourcing release. I think those services are great. They can do a lot for artists, and Wednesday and I are already talking about using one of those services for a new developing idea in 2013. However, my main issue with these programs is that you are saying, 'I'm thinking about making a project, but if I don't get $x.xx amount, I'll refund the money and not do the project'. The Kickstarter website shows that only 44% of the projects get fully funded'. We're not asking fans to pay for the recording - that's our job. The record is done and Wednesday is currently mixing it. It's coming out. We are taking a step back from crowd funding and thinking about what we liked about releases when we were growing up. We are simply offering limited items to go along with the release. If you want to be a part of those, they are there. If not, the record is still coming out in the normal packaging and as a digital release. We have decided to just give Wednesday's fans some options. The normal release and the limited release have the same music, one just has limited merchandise options and expanded artwork to go along with it."

Meanwhile, Wednesday is hard at work rehearsing with his band for the 'Spook & Destroy' European tour, which kicks off with a special Halloween show at London's Club KOKO on 31st October. The London gig is being filmed for a forthcoming DVD and the band are encouraging the fans to dress up in their spooktacular, Halloween-themed best for the evening! The band then continue the tour into mainland Europe.

Wednesday 13 UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows:

Wed October 31st 2012 - KOKO, London
