Jon Bon Jovi Cancels UK Promo Tour To Return To Family And Soul Foundation Following Storm Sandy

American rock icon Jon Bon Jovi has decided to cut short his promotional tour of Europe and the UK in order to return to his family - who are stuck in New York following Storm Sandy - and to help victims of the recent disaster, which has left at least 64 people dead.
The legend is widely-known to be a hard-working philanthropist and has a charity - the Soul Foundation - that helps the homeless of America. The foundation is already hard at work supporting those struck by the storm, and now he’s heading back himself to get things full mobilised.
“I really need to get back home having spoken to my wife and kids who are stuck in New York, I need to be with my people,” Jon explained. “Thankfully my family are safe. There is no power, water, the devastation is off the charts. The President is in my hometown in New Jersey because of the damage. It’s like Armageddon. Where my children surf, 80 houses burnt down.”
He continued: “I am committed to my Soul Foundation and Soul Kitchen Restaurant which a lot of people rely on for their food. I need to find a generator and get that working. What can I do, I have to get there and find out. We take care of each other, that’s what we do in own town.”
The star was in London for some press/promo appearances following the band’s announcement of a new album and world tour - which will see them performing in UK stadiums during summer next year.
