Lavender Diamond see the UK release of their second album

Indie folk band Lavender Diamond’s second album “Incorruptible Heart” sees its UK release today on Paracadute as a follow up to 2007 album “Imagine Our Love”.

Lavender Diamond’s brand new album, “Incorruptible Heart” is led by LA based indie folk star Becky Stark, and is their first release since 2007’s album, “Imagine Our Love”. Their new album is also the first full-length original release on OK Go’s record label, Paracadute. Los Angelese-based quartet includes various sounds comprised of Stark on vocals, Jeff Rosenberg on guitar, Steve Gregoropolous on piano and Ron Regé Jr. on drums recorded the album with OK Go’s Damian Kulash and mixed by longtime collaborator, Flaming Lips’ Dave Fridmann.

Over the two years in the making, Lavender Diamond demonstrate their previous niche of chilled-out past, showcasing the band as a folk-pop hybrid with diversity through their facet from strongs performed by The Calder Quartet and horns by longtime Brian Wilson, not forgetting the charismatic cover art by drummer and graphic novelist Regé.

Since the band released “Imagine Our Love” in 2007, Stark has performed with names such as The Decemberists, She & Him and The Living Sisters, not forgetting her appearances in films alongside American actor Harry Shearer.

With heartbreak being a cardinal theme throughout “Incorruptible Heart”, Lavender Diamond opens the album with their first single, “Everybody’s Heart’s Breaking Now”, showing the blunt overall feel of the album, soulful, intriguing and beautiful with its examination of global issues. Songs such as “Just Passing By” and “Come Home” are soulful reminders that when it comes to sing-songwriters, women are running rings around their male counterparts.

Swaying from electro-pop to the ethereal, operatic, Stark’s work is lavished with uncompromising creativity that cuts through the hyper-saturation of modern life. Lavender Diamond are going to be a band to watch out for with two strong albums under their belts, and could easily go on to do something very special.
