Kimberley Walsh announces the unveiling of her debut album.

Girls Aloud star , Kimberley Walsh announces the unveiling of her debut solo album “Centre Stage” on February 4th 2013 after signing a record deal with Decca Records.

Current Strictly Come Dancing star shares that the debut album will feature a number of tracks previously recorded in Stockholm this previous summer after working with pop producers such as Per Magnusson David Kreuger. After being approached by legendary label Decca, home to names such as Andrea Bocelli and Imelda May, it was apparent which direction her album was to take. “One Day I’ll Fly Away from Moulin Rouge” was the first song recorded for her album, “I was in my absolute element recording it and really felt like I was discovering new tones to my voice and really pushing myself vocally. I loved every minute of recording this album I really felt like I was going back to my roots.

The deal follows Girls Aloud’s recent announcement that they will reunite for a tenth anniversary tour in 2012, alongside a new collaboration of greatest hits titled “Ten” on November 26. “There’s a lot going on right now but I am loving every minute and can’t wait for people to hear these songs I’ve recorded.”

Kimberly’s new album will feature classical musical theatre hits, though completely reinvented. “I really wanted to share the love I have for musical theatre by taking some classic songs and completely reinventing them. The melodies in so many musical songs are so brilliant I knew we could create something special by experimenting with the production and I really feel like we've come up with some interesting takes on classic songs.”

Once “Centre Stage” has been released on February 4th, the only member of Girls Aloud to not have attempted a solo album will be Sarah Harding.
