Frightened Rabbit Announce New Album Release and Tour Dates

Critically-acclaimed Scottish indie rock band “Frightened Rabbit” have confirmed that the follow up to their 2012 album “Winter Of Mixed Drinks” will be released on February 4th through Atlantic Records.

ImageTheir fourth and eagerly awaited studio album “Pedestrian Verse” was recorded by producer Leo Abrahams at the famed Monnow Valley Studio in Rockfield, South Wales, producer to names such as Brian Eno, David Byrne and Grace Jones. Commenting on the album, lead vocalist said, “the title is taken from a lyrics in “State Hospital”. I felt it was a nicely faceted title, with enough layered meaning to remain open to interpretation. Above all though, it was a gauntlet I threw down for myself”.

The band have recently announced their UK tour dates, also set to kick off in February as their biggest UK tour yet. The tour begins in Norwich’s Waterfront on February 8th before eventually coming to an end in Glasgow’s Barrowlands on February 28th.

The indie rockers released the “State Hospital” EP in September much to the excitement of their fanbase after their FatCat Records production in 2010 which launched popularity and record sales. Hutchinson talking of the new album said, “more than any other record we’ve done this has been a genuine journey of discovery into new ways of working in order to develop and fully realise each of the songs. As a result, I think “Pedestrian Verse the strongest and most interesting record we’ve made to date”.

With themes of escape, freedom and reinvention throughout each impassioned chorus, this is one band upping their game.

‘Pedestrian Verse’ tracklisting is as follows:

1. Acts Of Man
2. Backyard Skulls
3. Holy
4. The Woodpile
