Revere Announce New Single 'Keep This Channel Open' Plus Second Album Details And Live New Date

Thursday, 08 November 2012 Written by Catherine Rea

Revere’s new single “Keep This Channel Open” was the winner among thousands of bands that fought for Channel 5’s recent campaign, Send Us Your Music. The music video debuted on Channel 5 earlier this year, and is the first single from an album that pushes their musicality into a more frantic, grittier invasion.

The new video by Revere is based around the values of communication and old-school post-apocalyptic film and television. Papers such as the times have rendered the single “epic widescreen melancholia” following their recent sell-out UK tour supporting double Grammy winner, Toumani Diabate. The band have also worked with Diabate, recording a reworked version of the Joy Division classic “Love Will Tear Us Apart”. The track has since been featured in the major press - including Word Magazine, Guardian, Financial Times, The Herald and others.

Drawing on influences as assorted as Ennio Morricone, Broken Social Scene and Nick Cave Revere mix the traditional sounds of guitar, bass and drums with an unlikely approach to the violin, cello and piano. The Guardian said, “Revere’s songs mix the epic and melancholy...thoughtful and delicate”.

Though the british folk-rock band have been sitting comfortably under the radar, their new single “Keep This Channel Open” marks the right time to chase after a music-loving audience that they plan to attack during their performance at Hoxton Bar, London on 18th December.
Catch Revere live: 18th December, Hoxton Bar and Kitchen, London. Their currently untitled new album is set to be released in early 2013.
