The Rum Baba Releases New Single '80's Animal'/'Stop Talk' - Listen Now

While a lot of you reading may not have heard of the genre of moombahton, if you wanted an introduction, look no further than The Rum Baba’s brand new single ‘80’s Animal’/’Stop Talk’.
Also known as tropical bass, the fresh style of music - inspired by everything from Jamaican dancehall, reggaeton, house, and electro - is starting to make quite the impact on the music scene and, although not loved by all, has already got a large group of followers, fans, DJs, and producers.
One of those in particular is The Rum Baba, whose latest single ‘80’s Animal’ b/w ‘Stop Talk’ - a weight-y and bass heavy release - hit shelves today, Monday November 19th.
Heavily influenced by both Jamaican and English bass music, her music constantly features driving yet funky bass lines, head-nod-inducing percussion, and enough Caribbean sounds to soundtrack a new Pirates of the.. film.
Despite being her debut single, Baba is no stranger to the music scene having worked behind the scenes for years, and the recent influx of electronic dance music in the UK - in particular drum and bass - has seen her pursue and evolve into the producer she is today.
Both tracks feature perfectly placed samples, quick drum fills, and pounding kick lines, combining some of the grittier, darker sounds of dubstep with more a more upbeat and danceable ‘riddim’.
