Yeah Yeah Yeahs To Release New Album In 'Springtime 2013'

New York indie-rockers Yeah Yeah Yeahs are working on a new album set for release in spring 2013, according to Los Angeles radio host Jason Bentley.

The band, who last released a record in 2009 with ‘It’s Blitz!’, return with a new record in ‘springtime 2013’ according to Bentley, who hosts the Morning Gets Eclectic show on LA’s KCRW.

The news has been greeted with massive excitement from Yeah Yeah Yeahs fans, who have been waiting three years for some new material from the band. It will be their fourth record following their 2003 debut ‘Fever to Tell’, 2006’s ‘Show Your Bones’, and ‘It’s Blitz!’.

The news follows ex-LCD Soundsystem star James Murphy’s comments that he wasn’t producing a new Yeah Yeah Yeahs album, which left some fans wondering how long it would be for the LP to drop.

He told Huffington Post: “I just did a little fun stuff. Nothing really big; I don't have time and they don't have time. I think they're done with their record now, I was just fussing around. I didn't make their album. They're just friends.”

As with most albums, we expect that Yeah Yeah Yeahs will announce some tour dates to coincide with it’s release - so keep your eyes peeled on Stereoboard in the coming months to see if the band will be coming to a venue near you.
