ITV Commissions New Series 'The Big Reunion' To Reunite Five, Atomic Kitten, Liberty X, & More

ITV have commissioned a brand new television documentary series called The Big Reunion - which will follow six of the UK’s biggest deceased pop outfits as they make their way back to the stage for the first time in years.

Set to start in January 2013, the show will feature the chart-topping likes of Five, Atomic Kitten, Honeyz, 911, B*Witched, and Liberty X, who have all reformed to feature on the television show - with a massive, one-night-only event lined-up for the finale.

The show will be stretched out over eight episodes, and will delve into the past of the groups to find out why they initially split, what they’ve been doing since, and why they’ve decided to get back together for the show.

It’ll also document the groups as they enter an extensive two-week rehearsal period ahead of the massive show, and whether the singers and musicians will manage to pull-off the gig after a number of years out of the scene.

ITV Studios creative director Michael Kelpie has said of the show: “To reunite these bands, tell the stories of what has happened to them since their heydays and follow them as they prepare to step back on the stage for the first time in a decade is a dream come true.”

His colleague Angela Jain added: “We are thrilled to bring the stories of these pop groups up to date. A lot has happened in the time these bands have been apart - marriages, divorces and changes in careers - and who knows quite what will happen when they reunite!”

As it stands, there is no official air date - though it will be in January - and nothing is known of the concert finale, either. Stay with Stereoboard to stay up-to-date on The Big Reunion - we’ll let you know more information as it surfaces.
