Kaiser Chiefs Part Ways With Long Time Drummer Nick Hodgson

Nick Hodgson, the drummer of Leeds-based indie-rockers Kaiser Chiefs, has announced that he has parted way with the bands to pursue other projects.
The band, who are currently working on their fifth studio album, are now in need of a new sticksman, after Hodgson announced his decision to leave in a post on Twitter earlier today.
I can confirm I have left Kaiser Chiefs after 15 spectacular years. I'm moving on. I wish the rest of the band the very best!
The drummer and his now-former band didn’t end on a bad note, and a statement on their website suggested that the opportunity to return to the band is always open to Hodgson.
The statement reads: “We can confirm that Nick has decided not to be in the band anymore and that our show at Reading Festival in August was his last as a member of Kaiser Chiefs. Nick tweeted earlier, ‘I can confirm I have left Kaiser Chiefs after 15 spectacular years. I'm moving on. I wish the band the very best! Ricky messaged Nick, ‘The door is on the latch and the key is under the mat…’ before stating, ‘We’ve all had a while to get used to it – we’ve got a bunch of shows next year and things are sounding great in the studio.’
“Simon Rix sent his best wishes to Nick ‘good luck to @nickkaiserchief with his plans. I can exclusively confirm we will still be collaborating on pints in pubs”. Here's to you Nick!’”
This means that the band will be without Hodgson for their up and coming February 2013 UK tour dates, as well as their forthcoming album. The dates will still be going ahead, though - so if you need tickets, check the dates and links below to find a pair through Stereoboard.
