Jay Z Takes Subway To New York Gig And Explains To Elderly Woman Who He Is - Watch Now

American hip-hop and rap star Jay-Z made a new friend on the New York subway earlier this year - after explaining to an elderly woman exactly who he was.
The megastar, who was filming a new documentary which was released on December 4th (his 43rd birthday!), was holding down an eight-date residency at the Barclays Centre in October, and decided to take the subway to the final gig of the series.
After startling and shocking the majority of commuters who were on the subway that day (October 6th), he sat himself down next to an OAP named Ellen, who asked the multi-millionaire ‘Are you famous?’
Jay-Z gave the woman a humble reply, saying ‘Yes. Not Not very famous, you don't know me... but I'll get there someday.’ She then went on to say that she was ‘proud’ that he was taking the Subway to his gig, and that it was ‘fabulous’ that he was performing.
Ellen then asked his name again, to which he replied ‘Jay. Jay-Z...’ - sparking Ellen’s memory to quickly recognise him, saying ‘Oh, I know about Jay-Z!’. The funny encounter was all caught on video and features on the new documentary - which you can check out in FULL below.
