The new festival from the organisers of the super-duper 2000trees, ArcTanGent, is pleased to announce that early bird tickets will go on sale from today (Friday 14th December) at the specially reduced price of £49.00. The tickets, of which there will be a strictly limited number of 500 only, will be on sale until 14th January 2013, from which time they will be a whole £10 cheaper.
The new festival will feature acts of a more decidedly experimental air than 2000trees, whilst retaining that event’s sense of being an alternative to the mainstream ‘indie’ festivals that dominate the summer calendar. Based in Bristol, festival organisers have yet to confirm the bookings of any acts in particular but state their dream headliners “would be Mogwai, Mike Patton and The Mars Volta”, so expect acts of a similar tangent to be in the south-west next August. The likes of 65daysofstatic, And So I Watch You From Afar and Three Trapped Tigers have already been chucked around the rumour mill, whilst many of the UK’s finest leftfield acts will be sure to be under serious consideration. Expect great things from a team (including aforementioned 2000trees organisers Simon Maltas and James Scarlett) that has already had experience booking excellent artists for 2000trees on a yearly basis.
Similarly to 2000trees, ArcTanGent aims to provide genuine value for money with fellow organiser Gos O’Callaghan stating that “we’ve done the research and we are undoubtedly the best priced festival out there. You’ll get two nights camping, four stages, over 70 bands and DJs and the best local food & drink we can find. It’s definitely great value!” Expect a great atmosphere, great music and a great weekend. We’ll see you there.
