Gabrielle Aplin And Little Nikki To Support Conor Maynard At MTV Brand New For 2013 Showcase

Today, MTV UK and Ireland announce the full line-up for their exclusive January MTV Brand New for 2013 showcase presented by Emporio Armani Diamonds. On 22nd January, Conor Maynard will headline alongside two MTV Brand New for 2013 nominees; breakthrough act Gabrielle Aplin, fresh from her debut Number 1 single, and the hotly anticipated Little Nikki at the The Forum, Kentish Town, London.
Gabrielle Aplin says: "I'm so excited to have been chosen for MTV Brand New for 2013. Lana Del Rey and Lianne La Havas (from the 2012 poll) are two of my favourite artists of 2012 and I'm excited to be named as someone who could follow in their footsteps"
Little Nikki agrees: "This is sick! I've spent my whole life watching Music TV so to be part of MTV's Brand New List for 2013 is amazing-I'm gonna go HARD in 2013"
MTV Brand New for 2012 winner Conor Maynard will headline. Since winning MTV Brand New for 2012, Conor has gone on to score a Number 1 album, three Top Ten hits and sell well over half a million singles in the UK alone. One of the major breakthrough stars of 2012, Conor has also seen international success this year, recently being nominated for two MTV EMAs and surpassing 135 million views on his YouTube channel.
In support, acclaimed singer-songwriter Gabrielle Aplin recently scored her first UK Number 1 single with her stunning cover version of ‘The Power of Love’, also used on the John Lewis Christmas advert. With new single ‘Please Don't Say You Love Me’ planned for February 2013, and her highly anticipated debut album coming in the Spring, Gabrielle is one of the most talked about new artists around.
Also performing, fresh from signing to Columbia records, Little Nikki brings her inimitable effervescent, gritty and unique brand of pop to 2013. 2012 has seen her support Rita Ora and Rizzle Kicks and at only 16-years-old this is only the beginning for this young talent.
On the 28th November, MTV Brand New for 2013 launched with with DJ Fresh and nominees Rascals and K Koke performing to a jam-packed The Forum, Kentish Town, London, where this year’s shortlist was announced.

On the 14th January the nominees will be put to a public vote on brandnew.mtv.co.uk before the overall winner of MTV Brand New for 2013 is announced on 1st February. All artists will receive dedicated support across all of MTV’s networks for the rest of 2013, with the winner being highlighted as the viewer’s number one choice.
With one of the most successful track-records for a new music poll, over the last five years MTV Brand New has identified international stars such as Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Ke$ha before their debut releases whilst also picking up top British music talent Tinie Tempah, Adele, Florence + The Machine, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Friendly Fires, White Lies, Wretch 32, Labrinth and Conor Maynard at the very start of their recording careers.
