Gwen Stefani Claims Solo Career 'Wasn't Her'

No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani has claimed that her hugely successful solo career ‘wasn’t her’, and that she prefers being in a band to singing on her own.

The singer managed to sell seven million copies of her debut solo record ‘Love._Angel._Music._Baby.’, but claims that her punk rock outfit No Doubt - with whom she originally found fame in the 80s - is where she feels most comfortable, saying that that is who she ‘really is’.

Speaking to Spanish Vogue, Stefani explained: “I did the solo thing, but I felt like I was trying to play a character in a way, this Alice in Wonderland pretend version of myself. But this, being in No Doubt, is really who I am. Time kind of stops when you're in a band. It's this suspended childhood, and it's really awesome, that part of it.”

She added: “But then when you have a family of your own, it forces you to go into the adult world a little bit more.”

New Order recently released their sixth studio album ‘Push and Shove’ - stay with Stereoboard to find out whether the band will be touring album any time soon.
