The Rolling Stones Set To Announce 2013 World Tour?

Legendary rockers The Rolling Stones have hinted that they could possibly announce a world tour this year, after frontman Mick Jagger told their literary namesake Rolling Stone that the band had received a number of offers to hit the road again.

The band only recently finished a short but hugely-publicised run of shows in celebration of their 50th anniversary, which saw them performing in London, Newark, and Brooklyn in front of sellout crowds - a lot of whom were unhappy at the price they paid for their tickets.

Now, following the success of the gigs, there have been calls from fans across the globe for the band to get back in the tour bus for a full world tour - and Jagger and co. are currently weighing up the idea after receiving a number of offers.

“There have been quite a few offers - I'm going to see what's on the table and discuss it with everyone,” Jagger told Rolling Stone. “We'll announce it when we've figured it out.”

Jagger goes on to seemingly confirm that the band will tour, telling the site that it would be ‘dopey’ to call it a day after 50 hugely successful years.

"Really, all you're going to have to do is wait for an announcement. [The anniversary shows] went like a dream, at the same speed, man. But we barely got off the starting blocks. It would be dopey to bring things up to this level and say, 'Well, that's that, 50 years, bye-bye.”

So, if you missed the anniversary concerts, it looks like you’re almost certainly going to get another chance to catch the band - with the question now more of a ‘when’ rather than an ‘if’. Stay with Stereoboard to stay up-to-date on the band’s potential tour plans.
