Live Nation Entertainment Secure Rights To Hold Large Scale Events At London Olympic Parks In 2013

Live Nation Entertainment has reportedly won the rights to host large-scale musical events in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Stadium in 2013 - and will apparently announce some ‘major concerts’ with some ‘world-renowned artists’ over the next couple of weeks.

Live Nation is already the largest provider of massive musical events in the UK, and has now been given the chance to put on even more huge gigs and shows by the London Legacy Development Corporation, who are in charge of the future use of the Olympic Park and its venues.

Events scheduled to be announced following their win include Wireless Festival and Hard Rock Calling, while many more gigs, events, concerts, and shows are set to be announced in the first quarter of 2013.

Speaking of the news, President of Concerts at Live Nation Europe John Reid said: “We are delighted to be staging music concerts at the London Olympics venue, which last year became a globally-recognized site for outstanding performances – both in sport and music.

“Over the coming weeks, we intend to announce some major concerts with world-renowned artists, to firmly establish the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as the centerpiece for great live music in Europe.”

Dennis Hone, Chief Executive of the London Legacy Development Corporation, added: “I’m delighted that leading global companies like Live Nation are interested in the stadium and the Park. We’re thrilled to be partnering with them this summer.

“This deal marks an important stepping stone towards securing a long-term programme of fantastic events that will make Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park a leading destination for Londoners and those who come from further afield.”

A full list of who is being snapped up to perform at the venues isn't available yet, but, as previously mentioned, announcements are set to be made in the first half of 2013 - so stay with Stereoboard to stay up to date.
