Former N Dubz star Dappy - aka Costadinos Contostavlos - has been given a six month prison sentence suspended for 18 months, following an incident at a petrol station last year.
Dappy became involved in a brawl at a petrol station in Surrey last year, after he attempted to court a group of girls into he and his mates’ car. After getting rejected, he allegedly spat at the group - only for another man, David Jenkins, to come and defend them.
Putting Dappy in a headlock - which the star says caused him to ‘fear for his life’ - a fight broke out, with Dappy receiving a punch to the mouth, resulting in him losing a few teeth.
After pleading originally ‘not guilty’, Dappy - and his three friends Kieran Vassell, Kalonji Stewart and Alfred Miller - were found guilty in January, and he’s now been given a six month prison sentence suspended for 18 months.
This means Dappy now has to go a year and a half without committing crimes (or, alternatively, getting caught committing crimes!) or he’ll be facing a decent stretch in the slammer.
Commenting on the incident itself, he said: “They had it in for me. I feared for my life. This is the worst thing in my life that ever happened.”
What do you think of the news? Does he deserve the sentence? Let us know your opinion in the comment section below.
