Taylor Swift: 'My Ex-Boyfriends Can Write Songs About Me, Too'

American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has claimed that her ex-boyfriends are more than welcome to follow suit and pen songs about her - saying it’s ‘fair game’.

Swift has infamously written many a track about most of the names on her star-studded list of ex-boyfriends, most notably with tunes such as the chart-topping hit ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ - about Jake Gyllenhaal - and ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’, about One Direction’s Harry Styles.

Now, she’s told InStyle that she wouldn’t care if they returned the favour.

“I can take it. If I'm gonna write songs about my exes they can write songs about me,” she told the site. “That's how it works. I'm not gonna complain about it. I'm not gonna sit there and say, 'I'm the only one who can write songs about this relationship'. It's fair game.”

She went on to talk about her ideas for future music - and whether she’d ever stop writing about her relationships (or their failure).

“No. I don't see the point. Choosing to let your fans into your life is a good thing because it connects you to your fans forever. Unfortunately, when you let your fans into your life through your lyrics, you're also letting everyone else into your life.”

Who knows if anyone will actually bother to write a track about Swift - maybe One Direction can take a break from being all lovey-dovey and pen something bitter. Perhaps Adele could help them! Would you like to see someone taking up the idea? Let us know in the comment box below.
