Bauahus Star Peter Murphy Arrested On Suspicion Of Hit And Run & Driving Under Influence Of Drugs

Former Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy has allegedly been arrested on suspicion of a hit and run attack, as well as driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and drug possession.
The reports suggest he left a driver in Glendale, South California injured after crashing into him, before leaving the scene and driving to Los Angeles. He was then said to be held by a member of the public who had spotted his erratic driving, in an attempt to stop him injuring anyone else - with the man saying he was ‘afraid [Murphy] would kill someone with his driving’.
Murphy was also believed to be in possession of notorious drug crystal meth, with police describing him as looking ‘very confused’ at the scene.
The Glendale News Press reports that the police were told by Murphy that he had not been drinking, and had instead taken the anti-depressant tablets he is prescribed. He did, however, admit to being involved with a collision. Police later found a small bag of white powder - believed to be crystal meth - in his car, which Murphy denied possession of.
At the time of reporting, Murphy was awaiting bail in police custody - according to other reports, his attorney has pled not guilty on his behalf. He now apparently awaits a court date on May 17th. Stay with Stereoboard to stay up-to-date on the story - we’ll let you know what happens with Murphy!
