Emails containing unique codes were sent out to UK Paramore Fan Club members in the early hours of yesterday morning offering fans the chance to win tickets to the bands hotly anticipated one-off gig at The Garage, London on the 5th April 2013. 50 tickets were up for grabs on a ‘first come first served basis’ with winners being notified by 9pm yesterday evening.
The special one-off gig will see the three-piece play a full live set including new material from their self-titled fourth album (due for release three days later) in front of an audience of competition winners with a limited number of tickets also going on sale at 9am today, Friday 22nd March, priced at £20 plus fees. The main room at The Garage has an intimate capacity of just 600, considerably smaller than when Paramore last visited the capital in November 2010 which saw them sell-out a two-night residency at the 20,000 capacity O2 Arena.
With the only contest announced so far being for PFC members, which has been closed to new members for over a year, confusion reigns amongst fans on exactly how they can win the prized tickets and many of those planning on trying to buy tickets in today’s general sale fear another fiasco akin to that of Fall Out Boy at the Underworld, Camden last month which saw less than 400 tickets go on sale a full 5 minutes before the advertised time and sell out in less than 2 minutes.
Anticipating demand to completely exceed supply a STRICT limit of two (2) tickets per person has been put in to place, with all tickets to be collected on the night with photo ID and the credit card the order was placed on. Both members of the party must be present to collect and the person who places the order must be one of the party attending.
Paramore will also be performing an acoustic set for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge earlier the same day.
