Sir Paul McCartney Admits Yoko Ono's Presence In The Studio 'Cheesed Off' Beatles

Rock and roll legend Sir Paul McCartney has confessed that he and his Beatles bandmates were a little ‘cheesed off’ when Yoko Ono attended their studio sessions - but also added that it led to some good things for them too.

It’s long been suggested that John Lennon’s former partner Ono was the cause of the band’s demise, and it was little secret that at least some of it’s members weren’t her biggest fan - and Macca now seems to have added a new side to the story.

Speaking to Q Magazine, he explained: “Because we'd been such a tight-knit group, the fact that John was getting pretty serious about Yoko at that time, I can see now that he was enjoying his newfound freedom and getting excited by it.

“But when she turned up at the studio and sat in the middle of us, doing nothing I still admit now that we were all cheesed off. But looking back on it - [me and Yoko] have talked about this - I think she realises it must have been a shock for us. But lots of things that went down were good for us, really. At the time though, we certainly did not think that.”

Macca has previously denied that Ono was the cause of the group’s split, but his new comments do imply that she may have at least been a factor. What’s your take on the story? Let us know in the comment box below.
