Taffy Cover The Cure On New Double A-Side Single 'Tumbling'/'Boys Don’t Cry'

Wednesday, 10 April 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

On 27th May the charming Japanese four-piece Taffy return with double A-side 'Tumbling'/'Boys Don’t Cry' from their second album ‘Lixiviate’ out later this year on Club AC30.

‘Tumbling’ opens with a classic indie intro that is quickly filled with distortion, heavy guitar riffs and playful pop vocals. The catchy, charismatic track is a mash up of intoxicating bubblegum pop, shoegaze and psych.

Not shy of experimenting, the following single is a cover of the Cure’s ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ - a remorseful and progressively heavy track that further exemplifies their talent and trademark sound.

Known for their upbeat and energetic live shows, last year saw their first UK tour. Taffy have already headlined Madame JoJo’s ‘White Heat’ and are fast becoming a favourite on the indie scene. Other performances include a headline slot at the Play Time festival in Mongolia and a plethora of sell-out gigs in Tokyo.

Taffy are Iris on vocals and guitar, Koichin on bass, Asano on lead guitar and Ken on drums.
