Scottish singing sensation Emeli Sande has confessed that she hopes her new found fame doesn’t affect her music and songwriting, following the incredible success of her debut album ‘Our Version of Events’.
Sande’s career has taken off with incredible speed, with her debut album becoming the best-selling record of last year - selling over one million units in the UK alone. But, although she’s enjoying the fame, she really doesn’t want it to affect her music - and hopes to continue writing ‘music that can speak for other people’.
She told The Daily Star: “If I became distracted by the trappings of success, my music would suffer and change. It would become something that wasn't important anymore, because you're just speaking about yourself. I don't want to do that, I want to create music that can speak for other people.”
Sande is currently working on her sophomore album - as well as promoting her debut across America. Do you have high hopes for it’s follow-up? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
