Punk rock chick Avril Lavigne has revealed that she collaborated with someone that you could probably define as more metal and more feminine than herself on her new album - Marilyn Manson!
Lavigne is currently working on what will be her fifth studio album, and ahead of it’s release - which is slated for summer 2013 - she’s revealed one of name’s she’s worked with on the album: shock rock star Marilyn Manson.
Speaking to external link, Lavigne said of the record: “The record's really diverse. We've got these pop-rock tunes, and then these piano ballads with orchestras. I have a heavier song that Marilyn Manson's on called 'Bad Girl,' and then I've got a song called 'Hello Kitty' that sounds like nothing I've done before. 'Here's To Never Growing Up' is one of the rock tunes on it, but it's all over the place.”
She also revealed that ‘Here’s to Never Growing Up’ was her favourite track from the album - an opinion shared by her producer Anthony ‘LA’ Reid.
“He came into the studio and I played him a bunch of tracks, and when 'Here's To Never Growing Up' came on, he stood up and was applauding,” Lavigne told Billboard. “I wanted it to be the single, and I didn't say anything to him -- I just played him all the music, and he was excited about this one. I wanted to write something that was a feel-good song, a summer song.”
