A Familiar Face Returns To Headline 2000trees 2013

Tuesday, 16 April 2013 Written by Ben Bland

With the festival fast approaching once again, 2000trees have announced their Friday night headliner as none other than Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls. Frank was last seen at the festival headlining in 2010, and also played in 2007 and 2008.

Joining him at the event will be ten acts that he has personally handpicked to join the bill. These are Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun, Crowns, Fighting With Wire, This Town Needs Guns, That Fucking Tank, Hold Your Horse Is, Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo, The All New Adventures of Us, Oxygen Thief and 20p and a Packet of Crisps. These acts are a mixture of Frank’s close friends and favourite upcoming bands. Lockey and Oxygen Thief are no stranger to the event, of course, both being singer-songwriter heroes of the south-west, whilst Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo notably joined Frank’s band on stage at his triumphant Wembley Arena show last year.

These bands, and Frank himself of course, join an already impressive 2000trees line-up. With Mystery Jets already confirmed as the other main stage headliner, and the likes of Stornoway, And So I Watch You from Afar, King Charles and Funeral for a Friend also on the bill, this year’s edition of 2000trees is well on the way to being the best yet. Tickets are also set to sell out soon, so you best get a move on if you are thinking of heading down to Cheltenham in July.

2000trees takes place at Upcote Farm near Cheltenham from the 11th to the 13th July 2013. Tickets are available now from twothousandtreesfestival.co.uk which also has all the latest information about the event.
