Tegan And Sara Release Video For New Single 'I Was A Fool' - Watch Now

Thursday, 25 April 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

Having recently landed the highest Billboard chart position of their career, when their current album ‘Heartthrob’ debuted at Number 3, Tegan and Sara are now set to release the single ‘I Was A Fool’ on June 10th to coincide with their upcoming summer tour.

Produced by Greg Kurstin, ‘I Was A Fool’ flows from its plaintive piano-based introduction into a rich contemporary pop production. As Tegan explains:

“I was really attempting a few different things with this song. I wanted to write a song that was about two people who we were in love, without glazing over how incredibly difficult the relationship was. I wrote it on guitar, but right away moved the song to piano.”

The accompanying video for the single stars Mae Whitman, best known for the American TV comedy series ‘Parenthood’ and for roles in films such as ‘The Perks of Being A Wallflower’ and ‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. TheWorld’.

Tegan and Sara’s previous UK visit last year included an arena tour with The Killers and select headline shows. They’re confirmed to return for further headline dates this summer:

Tegan and Sara UK Tour Dates are as follows

Sat June 8th 2013 - The Ritz, Manchester
Sun June 9th 2013 - O2 ABC, Glasgow
Tue June 11th 2013 - Troxy, London
Wed June 12th 2013 - The Institute, Birmingham
