The Saturdays Announce New Single ’Gentleman’

Thursday, 09 May 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

British and Irish girl-group The Saturdays have announced that their brand new single ‘Gentleman’ will hit shelves on June 30th.

‘Gentleman’ is the third single to be taken from their highly-anticipated and currently-untitled fourth album, which is set for a release later this year. It follows Their Top 10 single ‘30 Days’, which came out last year, and their chart-topping track ‘What About Us’, which features Sean Paul.

Based on the girl’s hunt for the perfect man (they should get in touch!!), the tongue-in-cheek track is a contemporary take on a 90's urban pop sound, with intricate harmonies and a fast-paced, upbeat flow. Frankie, Mollie, Vanessa, Rochelle and Una even name-check a selection of possible candidates, ranging from Ryan Gosling to Drake to George Clooney! Speaking about their new single, Frankie said:

“Gentleman is a totally different sound for us but it feels like a natural progression from 'What About Us.’”

Mollie adds:

'Who knew you would hear The Saturdays rapping? We had so much fun in the studio messing around on this track!”

The accompanying video sees the girls not only as glamorous housewives, but also dressed as their male love interests. Rochelle says:

'In the video, you definitely get to see us in a completely new light…dressed as men! It was definitely our most fun video shoot yet.”
