World-beating boyband One Direction sent their fans crazy with the announcement of a global stadium tour earlier this month, a tour which includes five UK and Ireland dates in Dublin, Sunderland, Manchester, Edinburgh, and London. In fact, we think there’s only thing that’s going to send their fans into an even wilder frenzy - the rush to get tickets tomorrow morning!
As with any big tour, there’s always a rush to get tickets - it’s not uncommon for big name tickets to sell out within minutes, and we’ve seen it happen a number of times recently. For example, this year we’ve seen tickets for Beyonce’s ‘Mrs Carter Show’ world tour selling out within just three minutes, while The Rolling Stones’ Hyde Park show sold out in the same time.
Tomorrow, we’re projecting that an incredible 1,000,000 fans will be fighting it out for just 250,000 One Direction stadium tour tickets, which go on sale tomorrow morning at 10am. One Direction’s new UK & Ireland tour kicks off in Dublin in May 2014, and sees them hitting a new UK stadium every couple of days. They’re also expected to add even more shows to the schedule.
You may be thinking, ‘boy, they’re going to be making a LOT of money on this’ - well, the guys have just promised to donate £200,000 from their ticket profits to the Stand Up for Cancer charity. We think it’s a brilliant idea - and they’ve definitely got more than enough cash to be able to afford to do it, too.
