The entire back catalogue of English rock legends Pink Floyd is now available to stream via Spotify - after the band’s track ‘Wish You Were Here’ (taken from the chart-topping 1975 album of the same name) hit a massive one million streams.
Spotify had set-up a unique campaign in order to get Pink Floyd fans to earn or unlock the band’s entire back-catalogue (which consists of a hefty 14 studio albums and 26 singles) by streaming ‘Wish You Were Here’ over a million times.
Not surprisingly, it took Pink Floyd fans just four days to reach the mark, and Spotify has now rewarded its users (all 20million of them) by making all of their albums available to stream - even for non-paying listeners.
Spotify is now exclusively the only streaming service that offers the full Pink Floyd back-catalogue to its users - though other services like Rdio, Deezer, and Rhapsody do let users stream their seminal ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ album.
