The Deer Tracks Release 'The Archer Trilogy Pt.3' And Unveil New Video

Monday, 24 June 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

The Deer Tracks today release their new album 'The Archer Trilogy PT.3' in the UK and a video for one of the album's stand out tracks W is now available online.

The new album is the third and final instalment of a trilogy of releases the band have been working on for the past 2 years, locked away in a disused pasta factory in the small Swedish city of Gvle, located 100 miles north of Stockholm.

David Lehnberg and Elin Lindfors are the only two non-changing pieces in the ever-evolving puzzle of The Deer Tracks. Two versatile multi-instrumentalists and singers, they write, record and produce everything themselves.

The songs that build 'The Archer Trilogy Pt.3' display the bands creative progression by combining the sparse experimental charm of Pt.1 with the more upfront electronic sound of Pt.2. Opening with the dreamy harmony laden III, which exhibits the duo's vocal compatibility, the album suddenly flashes into life with W. Deep synth lines and sparse drums pulsate beneath Elin's effortlessly cool icy vocal melodies before opening up into a dizzying intonated chorus.

The album is drenched in enchanting production; subtle glitches and sweeping atmospheric strings appear throughout the compositions adding to the mystical adventure you're taken on as a listener. Tracks like Astral Ship, Red Eyed Zebra and The Ghost Hour show off the experimental electronic side to the duo's production, while the huge Lazarus breaks out into punchy rave like synth lines and splintering percussion, topped with Elin's emotive soft vocal melody, showing their aptitude at writing hook filled pop tracks. There is a magical feeling instilled through the album, a feeling that recalls the infamous fairy tales set within the majestic Scandinavian landscapes.

Having played 2 London shows back in May (at Birthdays and The Waiting Rooms), The Deer Tracks have just completed a tour of Germany and a video tour diary is available on their YouTube channel here.
