Noisey Unveil New Beady Eye/Liam Gallagher Documentary - Watch Now

Thursday, 27 June 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Vice’s musical sister Noisey has put together a brand new documentary about Mancunian rocker Liam Gallagher and his new band Beady Eye and - you guessed it - it features a load of anti-Noel remarks, and a lot of Oasis talk too.

Entitled ‘Start Anew?: On The Campaign Trail With Beady Eye’, it documents the band, their work on brand new second album ‘BE’ - and their hopes of escaping their world-famous past in Oasis.

The doc unsurprisingly focuses mainly on Liam himself, and probes into the man’s mind, although there seems to be a rather large brotherly burden sitting upon his shoulders. He says in the doc:

“I don't want to be singing someone else's songs for the rest of my life. I don't want to be in a band with someone who's in control all the time.”

Sitting at almost 30 minutes long, it’s a must watch for any Gallagher enthusiast, Oasis lover, or Beady Eye fan, and is racking up loads of YouTube views - the view counter is already stuck on the notorious 301+ plays. In Noisey’s own words:

“In ‘Start Anew?: On The Campaign Trail With Beady Eye’ we follow Gallagher as he tries to step out of the shadows of Oasis with the release of Beady Eye's second album 'Be.' Will the discerning choices of Dave Sitek on production and Trevor Jackson on design allow Beady Eye to become an artistic endeavor in their own right?

“From rehearsals and interviews to instores and playbacks, Noisey documents the story of our kid as he and his band attempt to prove that they are more than the sum of their parts and that this record will take them in a new direction.”

And in Liam's:

“I wouldn't put it out if I was nervous. I hope people like it. If they don't they can go fuck themselves.”

We couldn’t have put it any better ourselves!
