Guitars And Equipment Stolen From Slipknot Frontman Corey Taylor's Home

Thursday, 11 July 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Musical equipment, including guitars, has been stolen from the home of Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, according to reports.

A story in the Des Moines Register earlier this week stated that two bass guitars owned by Slipknot's late bass player Paul Gray were among things taken from Taylor’s house in Iowa while he and his wife toured Europe earlier this summer. The total cost of the items stolen allegedly comes to $36,600 (£24,000).

Initial reports indicate that it was a "friend" of the vocalist who had taken the items, knowing that the couple were out of the country, and that some of them had already been sold on to a local guitar shop. The owner of the store is currently holding on to several items and working to recover pieces that have already been sold.

It’s not the first guitar-theft news we’ve had this week - Sheffield-based math-rockers 65daysofstatic are appealing for members of the public to help find some of their gear, after guitars and laptops were unfortunately stolen from their HQ.
