The director the Michael Jackson’s ill-fated comeback shows has revealed how he was ‘frightened’ by the singer’s condition before he passed away back in 2009.
Now, Kenny Ortega - the director Jackson’s comeback shows - has revealed how he was ‘frightened’ by his appearance at a rehearsal just six days before his death, and that he was ‘shivering and seemed lost’.
“I saw a Michael that frightened me. [His appearance was] very, very troubling.”
He goes on to say that although his condition improved as the session went on, he didn’t actually rehearse - and it was the first time he’d seen him in a couple of days having missed numerous other rehearsals.
Ortega later broke down in tears reading an email he sent to AEG CEO Randy Phillips just hours after the rehearsal - in which he describes MJ as a ‘lost boy’, and begs them to find appropriate care for the troubled singer.
Earlier this year, we revealed that the Jackson family had filed a lawsuit against AEG Live - the promoters who were behind Michael’s comeback tour, for which he was rehearsing at the time of his death - demanding a massive £26 billion in compensation, which would cover loss of earnings as well as damages.
