One Direction's Harry Styles Pens Tracks With Snow Patrol Frontman Gary Lightbody

Monday, 15 July 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Gary Lightbody - frontman of Scottish indie-rockers Snow Patrol - has been writing tracks with One Direction’s Harry Styles for the boyband’s next album.

The award-winning songwriter revealed the news in an interview with the Sun, in which he admitted that he wasn’t sure whether the track would even make it onto the record, which a source has promised will definitely be a 1D album, and not a Harry Styles solo venutre.

Lightbody told the tabloid:

“We wrote with Harry. It was a lot of fun. He’s a real dude actually. We’ve no idea if those songs will make it yet, though. It’s a long process. It’s great to work with other people — it’s good to flex the muscle.”

The paper then claims that a ‘group insider’ told them:

“One Direction always work solo with writers and are doing the same for the new album. It saves time, which is so precious for a band under their pressures. The tracks Harry worked on with Gary are 100% for the new One Direction album — and not a solo album.”

Snow Patrol perform in Belfast next month, while One Direction hit the road for a tour of UK stadiums next year. For Snow Patrol tickets, click here - and for 1D tickets, check the dates and links below.
