Paris Hilton Lands Resident DJ Slot At Ibiza's Amnesia Nightclub

Tuesday, 16 July 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Andy C, step back. Tiesto, you may as well give up. Keep your eyes peeled, because the hottest new DJ has just earned a month-long residency at Ibiza superclub Amnesia. Yep, you guessed it - it's the one and only heiress extraordinaire, Paris Hilton.

As she takes a break from her day job, she’s teaming up with the club to offer a ‘Foam & Diamonds’ party which will also see a pop-up shop selling Hilton’s bags and accessories, so you can shop 'til she drops (the bass). In the club’s own words:

“Businesswoman and media icon Paris Hilton is teaming up with Amnesia Ibiza in a joint venture to offer the public an iconic space for music and fashion on the Spanish island of Ibiza, through a series of events taking place from July 31 through August 21.”

Meanwhile, in more awesome EDM news, Hilton is reportedly putting the finishing touches on her second album, the follow-up to 2006’s ‘Paris’. Set for a release via Cash Money Records later this year, Birdman - CEO of the label - told MTV that people ‘don’t know how talented’ she really is.

“Honestly, I don't think people know how talented Paris is. I just left from her house she was playin' me some music and we were meeting. She got a record we're about to come out with and she's very talented. You know she's already somethin' special as an entrepreneur and everything that she do. But on the music side, I'm super excited. We all - me, Wayne, everybody - we listened to her music and she got some hits.”

Clearly, the year of the Hilton is upon us - what do you think of the news? Is it a bit of a blow to ‘proper’ DJs that she’s landed herself a residency? Or is it about the world started taking Hilton seriously? Leave us a comment in the box below!
