Johnny Marr has released a new track, The It-Switch, which is streaming over at Pitchfork. The song is the b-side to Marr's new single New Town Velocity, a track from his solo debut 'The Messenger'. The single will be released exclusively in the US next week as a limited edition 7" vinyl, and an iTunes download.

Marr will head to the US this autumn, headlining a nationwide tour that kicks off on the West Coast on October 31 and includes a stop at Austin's Fun Fun Fun Festival. The four-week trek builds upon Marr's well-received spring tour that included a show-stopping set at Coachella and a performance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon where he performed his single The Messenger before launching into a thrilling rendition of The Smiths' classic How Soon Is Now.
Prior to his US trek, Johnny Marr will hit the road for a string of UK dates. The ex-Smith has just added a date at Edinburgh’s Picture House for Tuesday October 8.
