Rod Stewart Invites Moya Back To Support On September Tour

Tuesday, 06 August 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

Moya has announced she’ll be continuing her tour with Rod Stewart, after a personal invitation to return later this year, for an extra nine UK dates.

After a hugely successful arena tour this June and July across the UK and Europe, including two nights at London’s O2, Moya was bowled over on the last night of the tour, when there was a knock on her door, from the legend himself.

“Rod knocked on my dressing room door and actually took the time to ask me back for the new dates, which I really didn’t expect,” she said.

“Touring with Rod has been the biggest moment of my career so far and I’m delighted I can continue. It’s been such a learning curve too. He’s such a dynamic performer, I’ve learnt so much from watching him. It’s made me a better performer.”

The new dates include shows in Liverpool and Newcastle, a first for Moya, along with two more nights at London’s O2 and four nights at Glasgow’s brand new Hydro arena.

The shows will also coincide with the release of Moya’s new single, Come and Get It out September 23. With her sights set firmly on breaking the UK charts, Come and Get It bursts with an attitude we’ve yet to see from the 22-year-old singer.

Moya is currently putting the finishing touches to a new EP, which will feature the new single alongside five other new tracks. She plays V Festival on August 17 and 18, along with Hardwick Live on September 14 with Texas, Jools Holland and Alison Moyet.
