Thunder And Fish Confirmed To Support Mott The Hoople At London's O2 Arena

Tuesday, 13 August 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

English rockers Thunder and former Marillion frontman Fish have been announced as the support acts for Mott the Hoople's upcoming London show.

The '70s rock outfit hit the road for a UK tour in November, and it had previously been announced that Marillion would be supporting them before the band pulled out last week in a contractual dispute.

It's now been revealed that their former lead singer, Fish, and fellow rockers Thunder will be warming up when Mott The Hoople hit the O2 on November 18.

The band tweeted:

Formed in 1969, Mott The Hoople went on to become widely admired and influential. Their string of hits started with the David Bowie-penned All The Young Dudes, after which the band’s legend was written with original classics such as All the Way From Memphis, Roll Away The Stone, Saturday Gigs and The Golden Age of Rock 'N' Roll.

Their November shows will feature original members Verden Allen (keyboards/vocals), Ian Hunter (vocals/guitar/piano), Mick Ralphs (guitar/vocals) and Overend Watts (bass/vocals). Due to ill health, original drummer Dale Griffin will be substituted by Martin Chambers (the Pretenders).
