Big Sean Unveils Kendrick Lamar And Jay Electronica Collaboration Control

US rapper Big Sean has unveiled his brand new single Control, featuring Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica.
Produced by NO I.D, executive vice president of Def Jam Recordings, the track premiered on radio station Hot 97's Funk Flex program on August 12. Sean was hoping the track would feature on his upcoming sophomore record 'Hall of Fame', but following a sample clearance failure, it had to be removed. Check it out below.
Although its Big Sean's track, Kendrick Lamar's verse is hitting the headlines in the rap world and he's getting props from some of the game's biggest names - a lot of whom he name-checked on the track. Lamar raps:
"I'm usually homeboys with the same nigg*s I’m rhyming' with/ But this is hip-hop and them nigg*s should know what time it is./ And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T, Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron, Tyler, Mac Miller/ I got love for you all, but I’m tryin' murder you nigg*s/ Tryin' to make sure your core fans never heard of you nigg*s/ They don’t wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you nigg*s. What is competition? I'm tryin' to raise the bar high. Who trying to jump and get it?"
Lamar's words have sparked a massive conversation among rappers and hip-hop fans on Twitter, with some claiming a 'new day' for the genre. Check out some tweets below:
