The Calling Frontman Alex Band Kidnapped And Battered After US Gig

Monday, 19 August 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Alex Band - frontman of the Calling - was reportedly kidnapped and beaten up on August 17, before being left by train tracks in Lapeer, Michigan.

The Calling had been performing at the Lapeer Days festival in the area and afterward, Band was apparently abducted by two men in a van at around 3 or 4am before being badly beaten.

His current condition is unknown, though he has since been released from a local hospital where he’d been treated. Band also claims he was robbed in the attack, though what was stolen hasn't been revealed yet either.

The singer was on his way to a shop at the time of the kidnapping, and he was reported missing after a fellow band member raised the alarm after noticing he had failed to return. Police are looking for the two suspects driving the blue vehicle.

It follows the band’s reunion - after an eight year hiatus - which was announced just eight days before. They’re expected to release a new album early next year.
