Charli XCX has revealed that she has written a track for Britney Spears’ new album, and she’s over the moon about it.
The 21-year-old, who’ll be supporting American pop-punk outfit Paramore on their upcoming UK tour, has submitted the track for consideration for what will be the eighth album in Britney's career.
Charli XCX has already written tracks for the likes of Icona Pop (she penned their chart-topping track I Love It) and is hoping to expand on her songwriting career.
“I've been doing some writing for the Britney record. I was freaking out. I didn't even want to go to the session I was so excited. I was so worried I would fuck it up. I was doing some stuff for that yesterday actually. Who knows how it will go. We've written one song and it's a great track and if she likes it then amazing. It was just an honour to be asked.”
Charli XCX has had a big year so far, releasing her debut album ‘True Romance’ as well as the support slots for Paramore, and she’s also got a big gig lined-up at London’s O2 Academy Islington for November 30.
