Howard Jones Launches New Radio Series On Absolute 80s

Friday, 30 August 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

Howard Jones will start a new eight-part weekly radio series on Absolute 80s on Sunday 1 September with free exclusive live track downloads available at the end of each show.

At the end of each hour long show, Jones will offer listeners a weekly free downloadable mp3 track, recently recorded at a live and exclusive session at Absolute Radio’s studios. Each live track will be accompanied by YouTube video performances for listeners to view and share with their friends.

Listeners will be directed to an online registration form at absoluteradio.co.uk where they will receive a weekly confirmation email and link to download a new live performance mp3. The performance videos will be hosted in a special Howard Jones Playlist via Absolute Radio’s official YouTube channel with links from the Absolute 80s Facebook and Twitter pages.

Jones received positive feedback when he joined Absolute 80s back in 2011 and hosted the weekly radio series ‘Howard Jones Electronic 80s’. In 1983, Howard Jones first burst upon the pop music scene with his electronic pop anthem and pioneering synthesizers. He took the mid to late eighties by storm with his high energy gigs and albums ‘Human’s Lib’ and ‘Dream into Action’.

“It is a great pleasure to be joining my friends at Absolute 80s again to present another series of shows,” says Howard. “I’m really looking forward to sharing my stories and experiences with the listeners and playing some great music."

The Absolute 80s radio series dovetails Jones’ 30th Anniversary concerts at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire and Birmingham O2 Academy.  The 30th Anniversary celebrates the release of Howard’s debut top ten single New Song (1983-2013).

Howard Jones UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows

Fri November 29th 2013 - LONDON O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire
Sat November 30th 2013 - BIRMINGHAM O2 Academy Birmingham
